Land Area Vs Built-Up Area
A plain-English explanation of two numbers that affect price, operations, parking, loading and future expansion.
The Basic Difference
Land area normally describes the total site area. Built-up area normally describes the constructed floor area. For factories, both numbers matter because operations may need yard space, parking, storage, loading and building area.
How Buyers Use The Numbers
A high built-up area can be useful for storage or production. A larger land area can be useful for vehicle movement, external storage, expansion or future redevelopment, subject to approvals and site conditions.
