Factory Specs
What Does 100 Amp, 200 Amp Or 400 Amp Mean For A Factory?
How to think about electrical supply numbers when shortlisting factories, without treating the figure as a full engineering assessment.
Why The Number Matters
Industrial enquiries often mention power supply because production machinery, cold rooms, compressors, cranes and process equipment can need materially different capacity.
The amp figure is a useful shortlisting signal, but it is not a complete engineering answer by itself.
Questions To Ask
When power is important, ask for supporting information instead of relying only on a brochure line.
- Current supply and phase details
- Existing usage by current occupier
- Upgrade history or known upgrade constraints
- Location of switch room, meters and distribution boards
- Whether a qualified electrician should inspect before commitment
